Rocketing to Excellence |
|
South Rutland Elementary School is located a few blocks past the intersection of Hwy 33 and Rutland Road near "downtown" Rutland. A team of dedicated staff members support the learning of approximately 245 students in 12 classes.
The school was officially opened by the Honourable W.A.C. Bennett (then Premier of British Columbia) on June 16, 1967. In 2007, just before our school's 40th birthday, the school unveiled a new logo (above) and became the home of the "Rockets".
Our school motto... "Rocketing to Excellence". |
Our school prides itself on being family-friendly. Staff, along with support from students' families, help all learners to:
- develop solid skills and a work ethic leading to academic excellence;
- show respectful behaviour and build positive self-esteem;
- use creative thinking and problem-solving skills;
- demonstrate self-reliance and confidence.
We hope to inspire our students to be enthusiastic about their future and encourage them to believe they can succeed.
